In a word, Superb!

This is not a cookie cutter course that is sponsored by and promotes a particular gun, scope or ammunition. It is a down to earth, practical and useful course using your gear.

What led me to select this course over several other nationally recognized courses is Jeff wants you to use the gear you will use on your hunt. He asks you for details regarding your skill, experience, equipment and hunt. With this information he designs the course for you.

After basic, to the point, class room instruction we headed to the range. After zeroing the rifle we began shooting at targets at various distances and elevations from hunting positions ranging from prone to standing. My upcoming hunt was an Africa Plains game hunt, so we spent time shooting from a hunting tripod sitting, kneeling and standing.

Using my rifle, scope and ammunition Jeff developed shooting profiles for distances out to 300 yards. We only stopped developing profiles out to 300 yards, because we determined that was my maximum, ethical hunting range. He taught me how to assess distances and use a simple ballistic calculator to develop a shooting solution and enter it into my scope or use elevation and windage hold-overs. Jeff is a natural teacher and is able to quickly assess your shooting level and then develop your skills to the next level.

I had a very successful Africa Plains game hunt which I attribute to Jeff’s course. I am by no means an exceptional shooter and used an off-the-shelf 30-06 rifle with 3.5-18x50 scope. I was able to take 6 animals in 5 days. Jeff’s course paid for itself many times over. I highly recommend taking any of Jeff’s courses and I will be taking the long range hunting course before each of my destination hunts.
